SWING!!!

Swinging always has been one of Luke's most favorite things to do ... and now Mia is loving it also.

Because our little girl is now big enough to swing in the infant swing out back, and because Luke only wanted to swing in the infant swing (I think he does not yet feel comfortable in the "big boy swing" with just a strap between him and the hard ground), I ordered a new set of swings for the kids. Luke's is just like the one they have at school - a "half bucket" with a little belt in front. Mia's is just an upgraded infant swing.
Happiness!

The calm between storms

It has been so wet and cold around here that when, for just a few minutes, the sun peeked through, Luke took advantage. He said, "Mommy, my sunshine is here. I need shoes!"

Thank you to Grandma who spotted this orange jacket for Luke. He LOVES it and was just so happy to have an orange jacket (because apparently no other color would do!)

Luke's house

Luke now refers to his swing set/fort as his house. He was telling me the other day what a nice house he has, and I assumed that he was talking about our house, so I went into all the things that we love about our house. He interrupted me about halfway through to correct me, "No, Mommy, that's your house right there (pointing to the house). Luke's house is here (pointing to the fort)."

OH, of COURSE!

More backyard excitement

My new playset is up and running! Paw and Daddy spent all weekend putting it together and leveling the ground to make it perfect ... and I couldn't be happier.

I played on it from the minute it was finished yesterday until it was time for bed and dark outside.

And, it was the first thing I ran to when I woke up this morning.

Thank you Day and Paw for my playset, and thank you Daddy for helping to put it together. Mommy is very thankful too ... she says it's going to keep me out of her hair!!!

What a difference a year makes

Last night I took some pictures of Luke climbing and sliding on his outdoor play structure that he got for his 1st birthday. He is ALL OVER IT. Climbing up the sides, swinging from the archway, sliding down the slide, and then doing it all over again.

Here are some pictures of him almost exactly one year ago ... so much has changed.
