Luke's favorite place

The park is the place to be for me these days. When Mommy is home from work, we go pretty much every day. Maria takes me on the days that she watches me too! I just love it there. Here are some pictures from today's trip ... check out my walking - getting better all the time!

Walking and dancing (did you read my earlier post that mentioned my dance moves that I perform mid-walk?):

I do NOT like dirty hands ... this is what I do if my hands touch the ground at the park (I know, very "Grandma Nancy" of me - she would be proud):

Climbing and checking out the slide:

Just being a silly, super-cute boy:

SO happy and excited about walking:

...I sure hope that I don't trip over this leaf!

Halloween Decorations

Hey everyone! Look at what Daddy hung ... just for my enjoyment! I decided to climb atop the toy box this morning so that I could get a closer look (check out my awesome Halloween pjs ... Mom says that she snagged them on clearance at Old Navy!)

Walking weekend

It was a weekend filled with walking practice! He's so cute - it still takes so much concentration on his part. Each day he crawls and little less and walks a little more ... it won't be long until he is a full-time walker!

Here's a string of photos (gotta love the new camera - it captures everything!).

Walking with blankie:

Sometimes I fall, but I get right back up:
Now, I'm really moving:

Occasionally I bust a move because I'm so excited that I am walking ... and then I just continue right along:

Walking Day #1

Our little man is a walker!
Here's a clip from tonight:

We have a walker!

I would say that today "officially" he is walking, and he's SO proud of himself.

Stay tuned ... video to come soon!

15 month stats

Luke visited the Dr. today. At 15 months he is 23lbs even (still in the 25th percentile) & 31.75 inches long (still in the 75th percentile)

It was the first time that he really did NOT like being poked and prodded. Not to mention all of the shots - poor guy! Daddy bought him some Wendy's french fries after his appointment though, so that made everything better.

A quick comparison

What a difference a year makes!

Then:

And now:

"The Great Pumpkin" Patch

We found the most amazing pumpkin patch today. It was everything that a pumpkin patch should be, and all that I was looking for in a pumpkin patch (yes, I've actually been on a search for a down-home, no glitz & glamor, family-fun pumpkin patch). It was peacful & quiet, had pony rides and a petting area, some play equipment, lots of gorgeous trees and flowers, apple tasting and bobbing, kids running around having fun, and, of course, a beautiful selection of pumpkins! We and Grammy had such a great time! As a bonus for Michael, they were even featuring model trains there this weekend, so he and Luke had a chance to check those out as well.

Park days

We've been frequenting the park. Luke is so entertained while we are there and has so much fun that sometimes he even cries when we leave. Here are some photos from a recent park day.

Oh, by the way, my new camera is so fabulous and I would love to just play with the lighting and all of the angles, but this is pretty tough to do with a toddler. Seriously, I could have taken about a zillion pictures this day!

Luke's two loves

Well, actually he loves many things, but here are two of his GREAT loves:

Climbing ... look at his most recent conquest (NOT safe!)

& yogurt (some things don't change!)

A walking update

So, last night Luke took his first series of 5, or so, steps!!! He's been taking one or two here and there, but this was full-fledged walking! Now, we'll see if he does it again any time soon :). If so, I'll catch it on video and post.

In other news, Luke now knows where his tongue is (see photo below), blows on food to cool it off (even if it doesn't need cooling!), and is getting his eye teeth (poor guy).

Such a big boy - feeding himself

Luke is learning new things and changing daily. It is simply amazing how quickly he picks up on new things. His vocabulary is expanding, he tries anything that he sees us doing, and he loves to surprise us by showing just how much he understands. All of this makes being back to work that much harder because I just don't want to miss anything. I have been behind on video taping some of Luke's new "tricks," so I finally had the chance to catch this on video tonight. Check him out:

Check out my new ride!

Look at what Grammy & Poppy bought for me last weekend!

I love it (obviously!).

Thanks, Grammy & Poppy!

For the love of ducks

When I stay with Grammy every other Thursday, we do lots of fun stuff together. One of my favorite things to do at Grammy's house is play outside in the backyard. She has a fountain that I love to splash in and a duck statue that I simply ADORE. I pet it, ride on it, and give it kisses!
