Cabo Pool Time

We spend most of our days in or around the pools in Cabo.  The kids are little fish and love to be in the water.

Family Photos 2013

Our wonderful photographer took some great family photos this month.  So many favorites... I feel incredibly blessed to have these beautiful photos to capture our family at this moment in time.

Date Night

Mommy and Daddy got a much anticipated night out with Jack Johnson this weekend.  He came to play at the Fox Theater in Oakland and months ago, when tickets went on sale, our name was chosen from the raffle for the opportunity to purchase tickets to his show in this (relatively) small venue.  We didn't hesitate as we have said for years that he is one of the artists who we would definitely want to see if given the chance.

We had an amazing dinner in Oakland, and were completely smitten with not only the theater, but also with Jack's performance.  He even played the song that we danced first to at our wedding.

Perfect date night!

Daddy's Biggest Fans

Michael recently started playing roller hockey in a local league.  The kids and I went to one of his early games this month and were able to eat dinner in their restaurant and watch Daddy's game.

Luke Skates

Daddy took Luke out to a kids skating clinic this weekend.  Luke seemed to enjoy it ... and he did really well!

East Coast trip: MIT

Our summer trip to the East Coast this year was planned around a very special charity basketball tournament that Michael has been part of for many years.  The MIT was founded by Michael and a group of his friends 20 years ago, and this year marked its final season.  It was great for Michael to see so many of his friends come together for one last year.

Our travel out was delayed (as usual, or so it seems with trips east!), but once we departed it was uneventful and the kids did great.  They have become very easy to travel with (thank you, ipads!).

Michael played with a bunch of his buddies.  His team didn't win, but it was still great to see so many of them come back together for the final tournament.

Following the tournament, the hosts held a big catered dinner and invited all of the players and their families back to enjoy.  Luke and Mia loved their back yard, which was filled (as many are in June in New Jersey) with lightening bugs.  The kids were fascinated and caught many ... Luke also caught his first tick on his leg (just wonderful!)  Welcome to summer on the East Coast, I suppose!

Yosemite Weekend Getaway

As part of our Christmas present, my parents gifted Michael and I an adults-only trip to Yosemite, complete with fabulous accommodations at the Ahwahnee and a weekend of childcare.  Oh, and built-in company ... my brother and sister in law, Michelle.

So, this past weekend we enjoyed the weekend away, taking in the breathtaking beauty that is Yosemite.  Honestly, there are no words to describe how majestic it is.  We took a couple of good hikes, enjoyed some alone time, and had more than one fabulous meal.  It was a perfect weekend getaway.
