Taking a hike through the beautiful area behind the house.

First signs of summer

The weather allowed us to get into our bathing suits, play in the sprinklers, have a picnic on the grass, and ride bikes in our pajamas this weekend.

A boy and his dog

I picked Brooklyn up from the dog laundry and brought her with me to pick Luke up from school.  He was so thrilled to have his dog ride home with him, and I think that Brooklyn liked it too.  She seems to enjoy riding along in the car.  Made me think that I should just bring her with me more often.

Walking Girls

Mia deemed today a "No Nap Day," which doesn't often happen.

I thought for sure that if I popped her in the stroller and took a walk, she would fall asleep...I was wrong.

At any rate, we had a lovely walk with Brooklyn while Luke was at school and I quite enjoyed pushing only one child (Luke has become rather ginormous to ride in the stroller, making it difficult to steer).

End of the ski season

We enjoyed a last weekend in Tahoe, marking our last up there for this ski/snowboard season.

The weekend started off with beautiful, spring-like weather conditions.  We spent the day sledding, playing outside, and enjoying lunch around the fire pit....
Ringing the lunch bell

Mia with Brooklyn
Playing with the dogs (notice how Brooklyn is just laying in the snow ... this is her absolute FAVORITE thing to do and she never gets cold, even after HOURS ... crazy!)
Throwing snow for the dogs
Lunching in the sun
Shoveling out the fire pit
Sledding with Uncle Todd on his crazy sled run with the big jump
...only to be met the following day with a huge snow storm!
Luke and Uncle Todd braving the storm for some serious snow play

BFFs:  Cosmo and Brooklyn after a long day of playing in the snow

Our final day ended with perfect conditions, so Luke got up on the mountain to take his final lesson this year with Jay.

Spring in Tahoe

We made our last trip to Tahoe for this ski season over the weekend. It was a wonderful time for all of us - fun and relaxing. Some of the highlights... Luke's playdoh extravaganza which lasted for nearly 4 hours

A lunch together and some time to hang out and shop a bit in the Village

Some backyard snow play time, as well as some hanging out around the fire pit.

For Brooklyn also ... for the record, our dog loves, LOVES the snow! She is clearly living in the wrong climate in San Jose. I think laying in the snow is about the only time this dog isn't hot. Oh, and the bonus this weekend ... Carly and Cosmo were there also - it was a doggie playdate lasting the entire weekend. Brooklyn slept the entire way home ... and for a few days after our return!

Tahoe has had an incredible amount of snow since our last visit a few weeks ago and Luke was ready to hit the slopes again with Coach Jay. This time Daddy only did a few runs with them.

Luke did a great job! He did a couple of runs with the edgie-wedgie (a rubbery device that clips to the tips of his skis to help him control keeping them together), and then was able to ski the remainder of the lesson without it. Mommy and Daddy are amazed and thrilled at how much he has learned in a short amount of time ... and even happier that he has truly developed a love for being out on the slopes (evident by the crying that ensued when we told him it was time to leave for the day).

Skiing right up to the cookie bin for a quick snack!

Last run of the day!

Sweet girl on the ride home. Mommy sat in the back and she loved having someone to look at and chat with.

Thank you Day, Paw, Coach Jay, and Tahoe for such a wonderful winter season!
