First signs of summer

The weather allowed us to get into our bathing suits, play in the sprinklers, have a picnic on the grass, and ride bikes in our pajamas this weekend.

A Big Girl Bike

Mia was treated to a belated birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa today.  Since Mia's birthday falls just after Christmas, and we are usually on present overload by then, Grandma and Grandpa have adopted the practice of presenting Mia with a special birthday present at a time later in the year when there aren't quite so many new toys around.

So, today, Mia got a new Strawberry Shortcake bike, complete with bell, basket, and training wheels.  She is so very thrilled!

Birthday Celebration Part I: Friday

Luke's birthday celebrations this year began a day early when Day and Paw surprised him with a new bike!

Taking it for a ride in the front yard

Very interested in the inner workings of the chain and wheels

An exciting start to a fun-filled 4th birthday weekend!

Luke's first bike

Grandma and Grandpa visited us from NJ this past week. They surprised Luke with his very first bike ... a super cute Radio Flyer tricycle. This is a great bike because it changes as the needs and abilities of the child change. Right now, Luke is riding on it while someone pushes him, and is learning to use the pedals. He was thrilled to get such a great birthday present!
